The Driver
Conner “C-Weed” Weddell
Centreville, Maryland • #8 • Late Model Stock Car
Conner Weddell has been around racing since before he can remember. His father raced in the arena series and went by the nickname “Weedy” — so when Conner started turning laps, he became “C-Weed.” The name stuck, and so did the obsession.
“It’s really all I ever talked about since I could talk,” Conner says. “It’s all I’ve ever wanted to do.”
He came up through U.S. Legend Cars with crew chief and mentor Tyler Hughes — winning the Young Lions Division state championship in 2020 and again in 2022. Then came a breakout 2023: the Dominion Raceway U.S. Legend Cars track championship and another Young Lions state title, backed by eight wins, 17 top-fives and 20 top-tens.
Stepping up to Virginia Racers Late Models at Dominion Raceway, he scored six feature wins in 2024 and three Late Model wins in 2025, when he also made his first career Martinsville 300 start. In 2026 he’s running a full asphalt late model season for family-owned Weddell Motorsports across NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series tracks — South Boston, Southern National, Langley, Martinsville and a CARS Tour stop.
